Women Giving Back (WGB), a HomeAid Northern Virginia program that provides free clothing and accessories to women and children from local shelters, had another extremely successful day of service this fall, welcoming more than 100 members of WOW, the official women’s fan club of the Washington Redskins, to sort donated clothing. The massive sort was followed by a wine and cheese networking event at WGB’s Store in Sterling, Va.
“Raising money, awareness and obtaining a space from which to operate were key challenges in getting WGB off the ground,” Terri Stagi, co-founder of WGB told WOW organizers, “But now the biggest challenge has been logistics—staying on top of the donations that come in and getting them out onto the floor. That’s why we are so grateful to have WOW volunteer for WGB—their time and support helped us out a lot and gave us the chance to introduce WGB to a huge new network of volunteers!”
