Careers

HomeAid National Capital Region is a small, dynamic nonprofit and working with HomeAid is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced work environment and wants to make a difference in their community.

HomeAid has a strong internship program, with internships offered three times a year in the spring, summer, and fall. We require a minimum commitment of 12 weeks with 15 hours per week. Internships are unpaid, but a stipend is available in some cases. See our current opportunities below.

Intern, Adam Darif (2017)

I was interested in working for HomeAid because I wanted to be part of an organization that is so focused on giving back to the community, and this internship allows me the opportunity to also gain first-hand experience learning how marketing works for a non-profit.

Intern, Alida Hamilton (2021)

HomeAid will always have a special place in my heart as the start of my career and as my favorite place to be. There is no other group of people who could have helped me grow more than HomeAid.

Intern, Emily McDonough (2016)

I would absolutely recommend this internship to others! I am grateful for the value this taught me from my hospitality background. It made me more appreciate my studies by introducing me to the non-profit world and gave new purpose to what can be done with my degree. It’s no longer about you as the individual, and that takes a big person to accept that. I definitely recommend others taking part in the HomeAid love!

Intern, Jena Mundy (2017)

The most exciting part about this internship was the opportunity to work for such a great cause while learning so much. I was not only able to give back but I was able to bring my own ideas into projects, even when it was something I had never done before. It was very rewarding to be able to see all of my work come together at the end!
