Weyerhaeuser Donates New Flooring for HomeAid’s Women Giving Back Store
Chantilly, VA, March 25, 2014 — HomeAid Northern Virginia announced today that Weyerhaeuser Company, one of the world’s largest private owners of timberland, donated 1500 square feet of Weyerhaeuser Edge Gold® OSB flooring panels to their Women Giving Back (WGB) Store. The new flooring was installed in the Store’s loft and turned an unstable and unsafe area into one which increased the store’s storage capacity. Van Metre Companies and their trade partner, VCI Contracting, installed the floor.
The WGB store, which is open on the second Saturday of each month, provides free clothing, all which has been donated, to women and children who are living in homeless shelters. The new flooring provides WGB with much-needed storage space to organize and categorize all the donated clothing before it’s offered to the women and children who shop at the store.
“The opportunity to work with HomeAid Northern Virginia’s WGB Store matched well with Weyerhaeuser’s community priorities,” said Fred Miller, Market Development Representative, Weyerhaeuser Company. “We’re both confident the Weyerhaeuser Edge Gold flooring will give them a strong floor for years to come, and excited for the promise it brings to add stability to the lives of WGB customers.”
