The Laurel Center - Empowerment Center Renovation - Winchester, VA

This renovation project focused on transforming an existing space to better serve The Laurel Center’s Workforce Development Program. The upgrades reconfigured the office space layout to create additional office and training areas, enhancing both the staff work environment and overall programmatic space.

The renovation included:

• Replacement of existing sinks and toilets with ADA-compliant models to increase accessibility.
• Installation of an accessible water fountain.
• Existing carpet was removed and replaced with durable, low-maintenance luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring to improve cleanliness and functionality.
• Additional lighting was installed, and the space was refreshed with new paint throughout.
• To support the training and programmatic needs of the Café owned by The Laurel Center, the basement also received:
  • New paint and epoxy flooring
  • A sturdy new stairway
  • A bathroom facelift

These completed improvements strengthened The Laurel Center’s ability to deliver workforce programming while providing a more functional, accessible, and welcoming environment for staff and program participants alike.
