This renovation project focused on transforming an existing space to better serve The Laurel Center’s Workforce Development Program.
The upgrades reconfigured the office space layout to create additional office and training areas, enhancing both the staff work environment and overall programmatic space. To ensure accessibility for all, existing sinks and toilets were replaced with ADA-compliant models and an accessible water fountain was installed. Existing carpet was removed and replaced with durable, low-maintenance luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring to improve cleanliness and functionality. Additional lighting was installed, and the space was refreshed with new paint throughout. In the basement area that supports the training and programmatic needs of the Café owned by The Laurel Center, new paint and epoxy flooring were applied, a sturdy new stairway was constructed, and the bathroom received a much-needed facelift—ensuring staff have clean, safe, and convenient access to the supplies necessary to support daily operations.
Collectively, these completed improvements strengthened The Laurel Center’s ability to deliver impactful workforce programming while providing a more functional, accessible, and welcoming environment for staff and program participants alike.
The Laurel Center believes that no one should have to live with violence or the fear of violence. We not only provide support for victims of domestic violence at the moment of crisis, but we work to stop the cycle of domestic and sexual violence … Restoring Hope from the Inside Out.
