HomeAid partnered with Builder Captain Stanley Martin and Second Story on a transformative renovation project designed to create a welcoming and functional space for young mothers and their children. This 3-level, 3-bedroom townhouse underwent a complete remodel that addressed both the practical needs and comfort of its residents. The renovation included a fresh coat of paint throughout the home, along with updated electrical systems and added outlets in the staff offices to improve efficiency and safety, supporting the dedicated team who work closely with the families. To ensure year-round comfort, the HVAC system was replaced, providing reliable heating and cooling. The flooring on the stairwells was replaced with durable hi-traffic carpet and upstairs the existing worn carpet was upgraded with new Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring that’s easy to maintain—perfect for busy households with young children. Custom Built-Ins were added to the living room to promote organization and provide much needed storage allowing this space to be used by not only the residents that live there but also for programs and meetings for non residents within Second Story’s program. Kitchen and Laundry appliances were replaced with energy efficient space saving models. The kitchen received new life with repaired and painted cabinets with new hardware as well as new granite countertops and subway tile backsplash.
The exterior received a facelift as well, with landscaping in both the front and back yards to create inviting, well-maintained outdoor spaces. A new playhouse was added to the backyard, providing a safe and fun place for children to play.
This renovation was more than just an upgrade—it’s about transforming the townhouse into a nurturing, supportive home that fosters well-being and growth. By improving the space in meaningful ways, with much needed attention to even the smallest details HomeAid, Stanley Martin and Second Story worked together to create an environment where young mothers and their children can feel safe, comfortable, and empowered as they navigate this important stage of life.
