This project focused on moderate interior renovations across three 1,100-square-foot townhome units that serve as transitional housing in partnership with Family Shelter Services. The goal was to create safe, functional, and dignified living environments that support families as they work toward long-term stability.

Each unit received:

• Comprehensive finish upgrades, including flooring and full interior repainting to provide a clean, welcoming atmosphere.
• Updated kitchens with new cabinetry, countertops, and appliances to ensure durability and ease of maintenance.
• Reconfigured bathrooms to improve usability and maximize space, creating layouts that better serve the needs of families who will call it home.
• Professionally resealed bathtubs to extend their lifespan.
• HVAC system and hot water heater inspection and repair or replacement as needed to ensure consistent comfort and safe operation.

Now that they’re complete, these homes will provide stable, well-maintained housing for single mothers that reflects a commitment to both practical support and human dignity.

Family Shelter Services is a multi-year transitional housing program that provides struggling local men, women and families with crucial life skills related to budgeting, employment, nutrition, homework and parenting. Their staff and volunteers maintain a safe environment for residents and a new path to dignity, responsibility and hope.
