Chantilly, Va., August 7, 2014 — HomeAid Northern Virginia, which builds and renovates housing for the homeless, announced the completion of three projects that enable homeless families to live in new, safe and comfortable homes. The more than $71,000 in renovations provides shelter service providers with significant cost savings so they can channel their funds into what matters most—ending homelessness.

Renovation of a house for Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS):
Renovation of two townhouses for Cornerstones:
Lennar Homes and 11 trade partners renovated a townhouse for Cornerstones’ Affordable Townhouse Rental Program. The $22,000 renovation, which was 100% donated, included painting; new carpet, doors and electrical outlets; and updates to the kitchen bedrooms, bathrooms and stairs. The townhouse provides a new home for a single mother and her four children who were recently living in a homeless shelter. View photos.
Arcadia Communities and 12 trade partners donated 100% of the materials and services to renovate a townhome for Cornerstones. The $32,700 renovation includes new flooring and carpet; a new water heater and electrical outlets; updates to the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and stairs; and improvements to the exterior of the home.
