Ribbon Cutting on Willowood, Operation Renewed Hope Foundation’s Newly Renovated Home for Veteran

On March 9, HomeAid Northern Virginia and Operation Renewed Hope Foundation, conducted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Willowood Lane, in Alexandria, VA, celebrating the recent completion of a renovation and expansion project which provides new life to group housing for veterans experiencing homelessness. The project was made possible thanks to a large collaboration of contributors which included the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA).

Alexandria organizations renovate home for homeless veterans

One Alexandria non-profit is hoping to give homeless veterans a new start in a brand new home.

The organization was created to combat veteran homelessness. Operation Renewed Hope purchased the home on Willowood Ln. for renovation. Snyder says the project resembled a house-flipping show, turning the dated home into a larger, updated space.

The organization enlisted the help of HomeAid Northern Virginia for renovations. From there, HomeAid contracted home builder Christopher Companies to construct the space. HomeAid Northern Virginia covered the cost — an estimated $150,000.

Struggling veterans find new home in Alexandria

Operation Renewed Hope Foundation opened a new home in Alexandria for Northern Virginia veterans struggling with homelessness on March 9, according to a news release. The house was renovated by HomeAid Northern Virginia from a three bedroom, one-and-a-half bath property to a four-bedroom, three full bath and can accommodate up to four veterans or a family. The project also received support from Fairfax County Housing and Community Development, according to the release.

Renovated Alexandria Home Opens for Military Veterans

ALEXANDRIA, VA-According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, nearly 11 percent of this country’s homeless population are veterans. Recently an Alexandria nonprofit, Operation Renewed Hope Foundation (ORHF), purchased a home in the area to give veterans a new start. Opened on March 9, Fairfax County Housing Community Development helped make the purchase possible.

Since its founding in 2011 ORHF has assisted more than 1,000 veterans in finding homes.

HOME RENOVATION PROJECT FOR HOMELESS VETERANS COMPLETED

This past fall, Christopher Companies served as the builder captain for a charity housing project led by Operation Renewed Hope Foundation that was completed and unveiled this past week! Partnering with HomeAid Northern Virginia, KTGY Architecture + Planning, and over two dozen trade partners, the home located in Alexandria, VA will provide housing for veterans coming out of homelessness.

Veterans Experiencing Homelessness Have New Home in Alexandria

Veterans coming out of homelessness in the Northern Virginia area now have a place to call home in Alexandria. The property, recently purchased by Operation Renewed Hope Foundation (ORHF) with support from Fairfax County Housing and Community Development, officially opened this month with a (socially distanced) dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony.
