Community Engagement

In addition to our building and remodeling projects, HomeAid reaches out to meet the immediate needs of our regions families and individuals experiencing homelessness and the nonprofits that assist them through our Community Engagement programs.

  • Builders for Babies Diaper Drive

HomeAid’s annual Diaper Drive is a community-based donation drive aimed at collecting diapers and wipes for babies and toddlers experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness in our community.  With prices rising and supply issues continuing there is now more need than ever for these items and unfortunately, diapers and wipes cannot be purchased using Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).  The diapers and wipes are collected each year between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day and are then distributed to local nonprofit organizations serving our region.

    How to get involved?

    • Host a Donation Site to collect diapers and wipes
    • Purchase directly online
    • Volunteer to help sort, count, pack, and deliver diapers and wipes to our nonprofit partners
    • Print and share our flyer
    • Share Diaper Drive information on social media

  • Home Essentials

HomeAid’s projects create safe, dignified homes for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. But even after the construction is complete, the need doesn’t end—many families still lack essential household items to make their new spaces feel truly like home. That’s where you come in.

We’re calling on our community to help us collect everyday essentials like Clorox Wipes, full and twin size bedding sets, drinking glasses, towels, and laundry detergent—items that bring comfort and cleanliness to those starting over. By donating these basic necessities, you can make a real difference in the lives of those we serve, helping them transition into stable, thriving homes with dignity and hope for the future. Join us in providing the finishing touches that turn a house into a home.

    How to get involved?

    • Get your workplace on board, neighborhood association, or any other group to host a drive anytime throughout the year.
    • Donate funds online or purchase direct from our Amazon Wishlist.
    • Share HomeAid Home Essentials information on social media.

  • Care Days

Care Days are hands-on volunteer service days during which volunteers come together to give back to local HomeAid nonprofit partners.  Tasks like landscaping, organizing, and cleaning are provided at no cost to the nonprofit, allowing them to use those vital savings elsewhere.

  • Project Playhouse

HomeAid believes every child deserves a place to run around and be a kid despite their housing circumstances. Project Playhouse is a unique opportunity for builders to partner with HomeAid to construct and donate custom-built playhouses for our nonprofit partners serving youth. These playhouses create a dedicated space where children can create, imagine and explore with their peers. If you are a nonprofit in need of a playhouse, please fill out the form here.
