HomeAid and Arcadia Communities Partnership

Did you know? Arcadia Communities began a new partnership with HomeAid Northern Virginia in 2014 with the completion of a 1,200 square foot townhome which gave new hope and a safe place to live to a mom and her four kids. The project was 100% donated – an investment of $33,000 in housing for the homeless. ArcadiaCommunities-K
This was Arcadia Communities’ first project with HomeAid, but it was a valuable one – Arcadia managed the entire project, start-to-finish, and gave one mom new hope and a home for her four children. The project saved Cornerstones $32,700 – that’s $32,700 that went back into programming and training for all of the families that Cornerstones serves. This project has touched more lives than those of the five people who immediately moved into the property.

“HomeAid and their NVBIA builder members and subcontractors have been the best of our partners,” added Tim McMahon, vice president of housing and community development for Cornerstones. “Providing these extensive renovations, resulting in warm and welcoming residences for families, helps our clients progress out of poverty and into stable housing. It is a long-term and productive partnership in effective intervention and community building, and it’s a partnership we deeply appreciate. Everyone who worked on this project … has made this generous and tangible gift possible.”
