Reeves Farmhouse – Arlington, VA

  • Reeves Farmhouse - Arlington, VA

    Worked to be Performed:

The Reeves Land Farmhouse, a cherished historic site, is undergoing a transformative renovation that will honor its past while embracing a new purpose. Crews have been carefully restoring the farmhouse while converting it into a group home for individuals with developmental disabilities. This extensive renovation is allowing the home to meet modern needs while preserving its character.

Inside, the home was brought back to its studs so that new life could be brought to its interior. Upgrades include all new electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. The ground floor is being reconfigured to include new bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, and inviting communal spaces. The crew has also added an extension to welcome more residents and caregivers.

On the second floor, more bedrooms create a sense of belonging alongside shared office areas and cozy living spaces. Installation of an elevator and hoist system will increase mobility within the home. The third floor is being finished as dedicated office and storage space for caregivers. All interior spaces will be refinished from top to bottom, with new drywall, paint, flooring, cabinets, etc.

HomeAid has joined forces with Habitat for Humanity of Washington DC and Northern VA to complete this meaningful project for the community. Once finished, the farmhouse will be nurtured by L’ARCHE, fostering a vibrant community within its historic walls.
