HomeAid and Stanley Martin Homes have completed a renovation on a property owned by Northern Virginia Family Service, designated as housing for a disabled veteran and his family. Goals of the $134,000+ project included: converting the house into a high performance home with minimal maintenance and utility costs, integrating upgraded interior and exterior features, and providing a finished product inside and out that provides a foundation of stability and safety.
Stanley Martin Homes and a record-setting 46 trade partners completely renovated the kitchen, with new appliances, cabinets, tile backsplash and granite counters; replaced flooring and carpeting throughout; renovated all bathrooms with new tubs, sinks, toilets and tile; replaced attic insulation and the roof; installed new interior doors throughout; installed new light fixtures; installed new exterior siding and gutters; upgraded electrical and plumbing systems to meet building code requirements; replaced the furnace and hot water heater; installed a new security system; re-graded the yard and installed landscaping; replaced the driveway; and supplied food, furniture and home accessories.
“Every family will be proud to live here, and it’s all possible because of our partners’ exceptional generosity, contributions and commitment to giving back to the communities in which we work,” remarked Mike Cleary, vice president of production and purchasing for Stanley Martin Homes.
